Recent fatal accident
A recent three-vehicle collision claimed one person’s life and injured three others. The accident happened during the afternoon hours at the intersection of Ind. 38 and Ind. 13. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, an SUV was headed north on Ind. 13 when it crashed into the rear of an unmarked police car. The police car was stopped at a four-way stop in backed-up traffic.
Apparently, the impact of the collision knocked the police car into a pickup truck that was also stopped in traffic. The driver of the police car and the pickup truck driver were both taken to a local hospital to be examined for injuries. Reports said the driver of the SUV was killed in the crash, while a passenger in the SUV was injured.
