Getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle is probably the most dangerous thing most Indiana residents do on a daily basis. No one knows when or if an accident will happen, as it is completely impossible to predict the actions of other drivers. Thousands of motor vehicle accidents happen every year across the state. Although most of these crashes are minor, some of them turn out to be deadly.
Details of a recent deadly accident
Recently in Johnson County, a woman died after being involved in a motor vehicle accident. The crash happened during the afternoon where State Road 135 meets County Road 500 West. Reports said the driver of a 2013 pickup truck was headed west on State Road 135 and attempted to turn left onto County Road 500 West.
According to reports from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the 2013 pickup truck turned into the path of a 2005 pickup truck, causing a collision. Authorities said the driver and passenger of the 2005 pickup truck, as well as the driver of the 2013 pickup truck, were seriously injured and taken to an area hospital. Tragically, the female passenger in the 2005 pickup truck died a short time later at the hospital, reports said.
What can be done in the aftermath?
Unfortunately, not all drivers are as focused and attentive as they should be behind the wheel. Any person in Indiana who has suffered injuries or the loss of a dear loved one in motor vehicle accidents caused by the negligence of another party can speak with an experienced attorney about pursuing damages. A successfully litigated lawsuit could provide much-needed compensation to help ease the pain and suffering of victims and families.
